Music Matters Club is a non-profit organization. Its core mission is to educate people about the value of music and their own self worth. Through concerts, programs, festivals, the organization provides young people across North America with opportunities to broaden their horizons within the music industry .

Our Programs
IMATTER
This program helps young people build confidence through virtual events and online workshops focusing on mental health and coping mechanisms. It partners with the Juno-nominated multi-ethnic, inclusive pop rock youth band, Girl Pow-R, to deliver messages about mental health and positivity through musical performances. IMatter teaches techniques and tools young people can implement daily and supports community by highlighting the value of incorporating music and participating in safe local activities.
Music Business Podcast
The Star-Pow-R Podcast provides insider information on breaking into the music industry for Canadian artists and music professionals. It covers tips, trends, and insights, teaching essentials for success in a competitive environment, motivating artists, helping them connect with audiences, and establish personal brands. The podcast features live expert interviews offering unique perspectives and answers listener questions. It aims to bring awareness about the music industry and create new development opportunities.
Music Training and Artist Development for Youth
This prestigious program works directly with the Girl Pow-R band to prepare young girls aged 9-17 for the music world. It provides unique Hollywood-level coaching and knowledge for aspiring artists. This process involves application review and online training across Canada. InClass Music Field Trips
Music Matters has partnered with the DayTrippers Charity to bring concerts and events into classrooms. This program, often for lower-income schools funded by DayTrippers, aims to teach students about the importance of music and musical education, provide unique experiences to build confidence and curiosity and help students explore careers in the music industry and create new development opportunities.
Film and TV That Inspires
This includes the children’s reality web series “Girl Pow-R Saves the World” featuring the Girl-Pow-R band. The show focuses on tackling adversity, finding creative solutions, highlighting hidden talents, and leaving messages of confidence and positivity.
Star Pow-R Online Concerts
Star Pow-R has a history of over 250 live events and has reached over 121,000 Canadians. More recently, they created the “Buy Local” Concert Series – Digital Street Festivals to address the impacts of the pandemic. These online concerts raise awareness for individual communities, their local businesses, and artists. Attending these concerts directly supports music development and local businesses. They are also noted as a way to support mental health.
